Gerard van Wijngaarden

He is the founder and owner of GW audio design and a multidisciplinary development engineer specialising in the design, development and industrialisation of advanced electronic products. His professional journey began with a deep-rooted passion for electronics, evolving through early work in the music industry as both a repair technician and studio sound engineer. During this period, he developed custom electronic solutions for performing artists while gaining extensive practical knowledge of high-performance audio systems.
Building on this foundation, he established GW audio design to combine engineering expertise with a structured product development methodology. Today, his work extends beyond audio electronics to encompass complete product development, guiding projects from concept and system architecture through hardware, firmware, industrial design and production preparation. Alongside engineering, graphic and industrial design remain important disciplines, reflecting his belief that successful products are created through the careful integration of functionality, manufacturability and visual identity.
With more than 25 years of experience, he has contributed to a broad range of high-end development projects across multiple industries. His approach is characterised by systems thinking, engineering precision and a strong focus on reliability, manufacturability and long-term product sustainability. He believes that successful engineering is achieved by balancing technical innovation with practical execution, resulting in robust, production-ready solutions that deliver lasting value.
Harry van der Schans

Harry van der Schans is our freelance developer-engineer, specialising in custom electronics and advanced audio system engineering. Through his company, SMP audio, he focuses on the design, prototyping and small-scale manufacturing of sophisticated electronic circuits, custom PCB layouts and advanced DSP-based audio processing solutions. In addition, he provides technical integration and maintenance services for contemporary broadcast audio studio environments, ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability in demanding applications.
With over 30 years of experience as a live sound engineer, Harry has worked across a wide range of music and theatre productions. His background includes the modernisation and optimisation of high-end mixing consoles, delivering improved performance, stability and reliability in critical live environments.
Certified in Dante™ and proficient in a variety of networked audio and control protocols, he specialises in the design and troubleshooting of complex system communication infrastructures. His expertise includes intelligent networking solutions for digital signage, audio distribution and streaming systems. Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Harry operates at the intersection of audio engineering, broadcast systems development and system integration.
Safa Beldi
Developer • Engineer
Safa is a freelance PCB designer and electronics engineer specialising in the development of high-performance hardware solutions. Her work covers a wide range of applications, from compact IoT devices to complex high-speed, multi-layer PCB designs of up to 12 layers and advanced computing systems.
She has a strong focus on precision, signal integrity and design reliability, ensuring that her work meets demanding technical requirements and aligns with industry standards. Safa is experienced in translating complex system requirements into efficient, manufacturable PCB layouts, combining technical accuracy with a practical approach to real-world implementation.
Based in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia, she contributes to the development of next-generation electronic systems through a combination of detailed engineering and consistent design quality.
Suraj J. Ravishaa
Developer • Engineer
Suraj is an independent Hardware Design Engineer with extensive, hands-on experience in developing robust and reliable hardware systems. As a modern knowledge worker, he combines deep technical insight with practical execution, specializing in hardware architecture, schematic design and PCB development. His expertise also includes validation testing, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), ensuring a smooth transition from concept to production.
He is associated with Decisure Consultancy Services, located at the IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai - India, where he contributes to high-impact innovation. Suraj has a strong track record in designing motor controllers, battery management systems (BMS), medical devices, IoT and industrial IoT solutions. Driven by precision and a passion for excellence, he consistently delivers intelligent, well-engineered solutions.
In collaboration with Vinod, he is committed to advancing the quality of hardware development in India, applying a wealth of knowledge and experience gained throughout his professional journey.
Vinod L. Ganesh

Vinod is a self-driven Embedded Firmware and Hardware Engineer with over two decades of experience in the embedded systems domain. As a modern knowledge worker, he combines deep technical expertise with a long-term commitment to the research, design, and development of embedded solutions based on microcontrollers, microprocessors, digital signal processors (DSPs) and FPGAs.
Living and working in Chennai, India, Vinod exemplifies multidisciplinary thinking in practice. His broad skill set spans multiple areas of product development, where he consistently applies both analytical depth and practical ingenuity.
Together with his colleague Suraj, he co-owns and serves as Principal Engineer at Decisure Consultancy Services, located at the IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai - India. Through his work, Vinod contributes meaningfully to India's knowledge economy, blending innovation, engineering precision and a clear vision for embedded technology.
